Due to the low life expectancy and the general health situation, many children and adolescents in Benin are semi– or full–time orphans. Time and again, the concern of Benin Santé has been raised about supporting these young people with nutrition.
In cooperation with Rotary, a concrete project has been developed: the Yémissi food bank.
This supports students at the University of Calavi–Abomey by giving out vouchers worth €55 every three months for maize, rice, oil and other basic foods. These can be exchanged with a partner.
This enables the young people to pursue their studies and ultimately help the development of the country and their families through a good education.
